I am debating on putting a 6bt into my 92 GMC 1500 2wd shortbed. I was just curious if anyone has done this. I am sure it can be done and think there will be plenty of clearance front to back just not sure height wise if it will have enough clearance for hood and enough between oil pan and crossmember. I bought the truck with the intentions of getting started on it this winter. I know a 4bt would fit easy and be better on the suspension components but I have a cummins sitting in the shop from a 91 dodge. I think a 6bt in it would be alot more interesting and a little more of a challenge than the 4bt. Anyone done this or have any suggestions?? I attached a picture of the truck I would be doing it to.

I have a 94 1500 that i put a 6bt in, it will fit fine, use auto world mounts and swap in 454 or 6.5 front springs, i ran a 454 radiator but a 350 should work too

That truck would be cool with a 5.9 for sure.

I'm doing a 5.9 in an 84 short bed right now. Love to see these type of conversions.

Nice looking truck and cool project. Since you have the engine already it seems like a no-brainer to stick the 5.9 in there!

Always wanted to do this to my first truck.. (ss350) loved that truck.

Awesome choice going be a nice build, My brother is putting a 5.9/nv4500 in a '93 Bronco with Super Duty axles
