i was fixing a oil leak today on the timing case. All was going well until i put the balancer on. when i was tightening the bolts looked up the torque spec in the Haynes manual:badidea: i didn't have my fsm out it said 135 ft pounds. seemed a bit high to me but i went ahead an tried to tighten them didn't feel right. so i backed it down to 110 still didn't seem right. and then one of the bolts went soft. i knew something was wrong then. so i pulled out the fsm and saw 92 ft pounds is what you are suppose to torque them to. so i have one bolt that has stripped threads or a crank or a bolt about to break. im hoping its the bolt but i don't think it is can i helicoil this if its the threads and will it hold. seems like i read about someone else doing this but i cant find it.

Bad information from a bad source. Good luck on the repair. BTW, I only use a Haynes manual for fire starter.
