i just put a block heater cord on my CR for the winter season and on the new cord it says to make sure to leave the cord unplugged for at least one minute before starting the ol 5.9
the only reason i can even think this would matter is that the block heater is just a small 120v heating element and the truck runs on 14 volts.... if there was a bad ground issue or an "electrical leak" that the two types of voltages might have an issue, still i think that is far fetched.
i am very particular about letting my truck warm up before taking off so i just have to wonder of this really matters. when using the block heater i always unplug her then bust her off and take off. if the block wasn't warm i would not do this other wise.....
any thoughts on this?
