My 97 f350 is getting pretty lazy to start. When it fires it still seems to have all its power but just seems lazy. Pull the dip stick while the truck is running and there is quite of bite of smoke coming out of the dipstick. And oil is getting all in my airfilter also. any one eles have this problem. The old girl has 230,000 miles on it. Like i said it still seems to have all it power and all when running

Hmm my old 7.3 (01 with 170k) had a decent mount of blowby. The oil in the filter can be taken care of with a ccv mod. Can you hold your hand over the oil fill while its running and it not be blown off?

go to powerstroke.org or powerstrokenation.com there's a couple different write ups on it. Just search ccv mod

If its just a light steady stream of smoke youre ok. If it goes puff puff puff not good, time for compression test.
