Cummins on a 560!

I got my cummins bolted up to the tractor but the 560 starter just won't quite turn it over fast enough! A 1066 starter will fit perfectly but it has a 10 tooth bendix gear and the 560 has 9! Anyone know if they are interchangeable?

Are you trying to use the 560 gas or diesel starter? The diesel one should work.
Also how many batteries are you using, you will need two.

Gas! We actually had three batteries hooked up! Is the deisel starter different?

Yes the diesel starter is bigger, try that and report back.

The answer is yes! The 1066 starter bendix interchanges with the 560 bendix!
