Long story short I cracked my dipstick tube (brittle plastic). Does anyone know the inside diameter of the tube? Looks like I could use nylon air brake line to replace it cheaper than buying a new tube. Thanks in advance

By my eyeball, I would venture a guess around 3/8". No way of measuring any pieces left from yours?

Yeah I can measure, but forgot to before I left the shop. Didn't want to make two trips but oh well. I will stop and grab some 3/8 and see if it will work. Pretty cheap stuff, will post if it works. I can't be the only person Murphy's law applies to when doing a simple starter replacement.

.375 is the outside diameter of the metal tube in the block. :)

Pushed right on nice and tight with a little grey permatex. Looks factory, cost a whopping $3.27

Hey, my eyeballs work pretty good!! Good to know the air line worked.

Thanks, Jeff!
