I'm wondering what some personal opinions or experiences are with electric over hydraulic brakes are. Braking, maintenance, cost, performance, etc??? I have a corn pro 9ton trailer and it'll be needing brakes one of these days and i'm tossing around the idea...

Thanks,
James

If you tow heavy loads, frequently, they are worth the money for sure. I'd never go back to a plain electric brake setup. Pads are fairly inexpensive. Braking power is night and day compared to standard trailer brakes.

Thanks for the input. To do the complete conversion what kind of amount am i looking at, if you dont mind sharing? Is there a complete kit available?

I put a set of disk electric over hydraulic on my fathers 24000 lb gooseneck works great will never go back again the kit cost about 3k I don't know if that is a good price or not. But we load the trailer very heavy. That was a complete kit had everything.

Looks good man. Thanks for the input. I have a 25+5 cornpro 9ton and i have looked into doing a torsion axle swap with the brakes. The more i thought aout it i decided not to do any upgrades. The trailer is only an 8ft wide. One of these days i would like to upgrade to something 8.5 ft wide and low profile. Although being that the trailer is in excellent condition it makes it pretty tough to sell it for what i would consider not so good reasons. I do know that when i do decide to move on to another trailer I would like something with the hydraulic disc brakes, low profile, spread torsion axles, self cleaning dove tail, dual 2 speed jacks, led lighting, 8.5 ft wide, with atleast 10 ton capacity. That is my dream trailer but the trailer i have now suits me just fine... I think LOL
