A buddy of mine has an 06 LLY with PPE HOT+2,Duramaximizer,afe intake,4" exhaust, fuel race valve in rail,trans-go jr,
The truck gets 11.5 by itself and 9-10 pulling a light trailor. Not sure why the economy is so bad, its about the same on all of the settings.
Maybe the egr??? Input would help

What size tires is he running? What rims? Are the t-bars cranked?

The factory wheel and tire combo weighs around 57 Lbs. A H2 rim combo with a 33" tire weighs in at 80 Lbs. When you increase the rotating mass of the wheel/tire...you create more work for the motor. Kinda like towing a small trailer everywhere you go.
