Good engine for diesel motorcylce?

Ive been thinking alot about a diesel motorcycle build lately. My question for you guys is what small diesel engines (under 1.5 litres) respond well to performance upgrades. I was thinking a little 2 or 3 cylinder with a lil turbo and a lot of fuel would be a lot of fun on a bike. I was thinking the guys who mess with the smaller tractor pulling would know.
