On Edit, am I missing something here.... according to Randy's the 11.5 does NOT have a 3rd bearing support like the 14 bolts

Chrysler 11.5" - 14 bolt rear cover, full floating rear end common in late model Dodge trucks with diesel engines.

Now are you comparing stock to stock as far as the rear goes? Comparable H.P. trucks and chassis set up? And the reason for using the 80 is most of the time its already in the truck and the 80 is a tad cheaper to build.
