Ok he's a diesel newb in general. I can talk cummins all day and diesel theory but I'm limited with the duramax. Efi I know. What's required to do a efi/cts setup with 5dsp? Difference between the v2 and original? Exhaust is done and lift pump will happen at the same time as efi. Airdog or Fass 150? And any good educational links for him to read up on the in's and out's of this motor? Thanks guys!

Diesel Place, and Duramax Diesels will have tons of info. If he doesnt want to dump money on an Autocal or V2 setup from EfiLive, lots of tuners do an ECM exchange for considerably less.

If he has the truck tuned by someone with a V2 he will not need an autocal or v2. If he gets a CTS be sure to get the monitor only version or it will not be able to switch tuned in a DSP5 program. If he wishes to purchase tunes, an autocal must originate from the tune maker. A V2 will allow him to flash tunes from whoever he chooses to get them from.
