How far will stock injector lines take you?

I tried to search but didn't come up with anything. With a 13mm pump set at 600-700cc turning 4500 rpms would stock lines be sufficient . Would you jump to mild steel .93 or .120 lines?

Most guys I've seen go bigger before they get as much fuel as you've got. I always figured that once you got over 500cc, they were a good idea.

Side note, how long have you had that 13mm pump on there?

It's still a 12mm 160 pump. Hopefully the 13mm will go on there before the DIDC event. I am just trying to figure if I can cut that corner to save money for this event to get the 13mm. I got to get the clutch rebuilt also. A lot of money to spend for a chance to make an appearance and shot at the money.

I have not seen any used mild steel lines on the forums, They have all been sold.

IMO 600-700cc's is 3.0 truck territory. 500-550 is reasonable for a 2.6 truck.

What size injectors are you going with? I think that'll be a bigger determination of what lines you want. If you start with a fire hose and then through a garden hose then through a straw...etc. you're not doing yourself any good with a 13mm pump.

Now having said that if you are going to a 13mm pump with 500+ cc's of fuel and some 5*0.025 dual feeds then basically you've spent a lot of money on injectors and a pump without enough flow in between using stock lines.

The stock lines will work for now, if running a stock cam in the pump a set of 93's will be sufficient to relieve the pressure off the cam and help longevity. If running a aggressive cam then 120's would probably be best. Your injector inlet is only so big, make sure your holders are matched up with your lines as well.

Keeping the cam alive is key

Larger injection lines increase hp @ higher RPM with larger pumping elements.

I'll have a set of 5x25 dual feeds hopefully. Right now it has some 5x18s The pump is suppose to be set around 700cc so I will turn it back a good bit.

the guy was going to run the 13mm and 5x25 in workstock class. I think i have talked him into trading with my current setup and some cash to boot for the 13mm. Hopefully it all comes through cause I hate to see him hurt his new motor.

It is a stock cam for now. I think it is best to set it back to 550cc.

The 160 pump set between 480-500 and I am clearing this up easily since it is not fueling in the upper rpms. Just need more fuel

I've heard numerous people say recently that the best way to drive a big HP 12v is a dialed-back 13mm tuned properly. Yours should be really nice in the 550-600 range.

Side note: What the eff was motivating that guy to try WS with a 13mm pump and DF 5x25s?! What stock charger?

Well it is a 6.4 stroker motor so I guess he thought it could take it. He is going to get the fleece 63mm hx-35 that i had built for a 24v workstock truck.
Both the charger and motor would have been toast.

Appreciate the help!

Haha this. People never cease to engineer things that never should be thought of. Much less put into action.
