HVAC questions

I’m in the process of converting my 2nd gen dash to 3rd gen dash. I’ve just about got the dash ready to bolt in. But before I go to make things permanent, I need to start figuring out how to plumb the hvac stuff.
I do know the 2nd gen hvac system is operated off of vacuum, if I am able to plumb in the vacuum pump from an 03, will it work correctly as if it was getting vacuum from the power steering/vacuum pump from the earlier models?

Hmm, so my idea may not work out too well.
Would I be able to adapt the newer actuators to the older hvac box? That way I can use the 3rd gen controls to operate the doors and what not?
I’ve got the hvac box out of the 3rd gen vehicle but I’m not sure if it will fit the cab of this older truck..
