So i was looking for a new camping/hunting rig and came across this.
she is a 92, 5 speed, 250,000 kms, pump turned up and timing done by PDR, 10" cutom built lift by T&S suspension, custom drive shafts with huge ujoints by high angle driveline, 4.56 gears and detroit lockers, 35 spline shafts in the front, 39" military tires, isspro egt and boost, 99 seats and center consol, rear disk brake conversion with a driveline emergency brake.

So that is what all has been done. Now i need to know what i should do to get some power out of it. It is currently making 230/670ish to the ground.
What injectors should i get? I see the POD's seem to be a good bang for the buck, smoke dont bother me as this truck will not be on the road all the time.
Is there some sort of GSK i can do on the VE pump? At what point do i have to start be concerned with tranny failure? Sorry for the huge post.

HILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLBILLY DELUXE!!!!!!!!! that is friggin sweet!!!

Best thing to do is register on 1stgen.org. The best of the first gen guys are over there and will set you up.

yes, you can get a "366" gov spring, witch will allow you to fuel to 3200rpm. 20$ spring you can get from Bosch dealer. Grind the Fuel pin in the AFC. And you are right, POD's are a good bang for the buck! You might be able to turn the pump up some more.

I guess we'll have to have differing opinions here.
Run your starwheel to the bottom, it lets the fuel pin reach full fuel with less boost pressure. Leave yer smoke screw alone. And do the old smokey AFC pin grind -> http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/dev/showthread.php?t=154086
And dont worry about the shut donw solenoid, turning up the pump doesnt kill em, there are tons of turned up trucks that are not killing them. It is an expencive part that can be replaced with one from a VW for cheap.
Do some reading here -> http://dodgeram.org/support_pgs/diesel_ix.htm
The "more Power" articles are very conservative. And also read here FIRST -> http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/dev/showthread.php?t=158962
(I just wrote this article, every first gen owner needs to know this)

And, with them tires, n power mods, u will want to look into getting a South Bend soon. The getrag is a damn near bullet proof tranny, IF u take care of it. Just simply change the fluid every 10-20K miles, with 5W30 synthetic motor oil. It runs hot thats why 10-20K. And dont rest yer hand on the shifter. I had 339K original on mine with NO play.

Find yerself a 4" downpipe. I got mine from Rip Rook at www.sourceautomotive.biz (some fab work involved) or www.stansheaders.com.

And yes, a 3200 GSK. PDR or and bosch dealer can get u it. Click here for the procedure -> http://dens-site.net/Dodge_CTD/Governor_Spring/index.html
After u do the GSK, u need to advance the timing some more for top end, typically the 1/8th" timing bump is good enough.

N congrats on the purchase, that thing is a monster!

Hey thanks Cowboy for posting up all those links. I am building a 4bt with the VE pump, and need all the VE performance advice I can get....thanks again!
