improving towing

04.5 , 2500, 6 spd,dd clutch, smarty 606 pod, 90 hp injectors, fass fuel, 5 inch exhaust, banks intercooler ram, towing 10k trailer thru mountains. should next step be hamilton cam 188/220, or twins?????

wow you having problems with all that ?
 
smarty and 90 sticks with a stock turbo will create some heat. thats all fuel and no air.

either swap to a big single and tune the heat down or do what DD said, add a 471-475.
 
You never stated what you want to improve about the towing. I agree, if you're still running the stock turbo, the 90s can be a little on the warm side along with a Smarty. But with the 6spd., you have better control of the gears. If temps start to get a little warm, downshift and bring the R's up.

Good point :clap: There's so many ways to "improve towing", it just depends on which aspect of towing you want to improve. Exhaust brakes, air ride hitches, air bags, gears, tires... compounds.
 
Oh Sh^*, yes it has a super phat sheft 64/80 turbo.....sorry. Looking too improve mileage and keep temps where they are while having good towing power......

Call Hamilton and talk to him. The best thing ever as far as towing with my old truck for spool and EGT's was his cam. $.02
