LMM Change Filter Light

I helped a buddy put an Airdog 150 on his truck. After 15-20,000 miles the change fuel filter light came on. I changed the filter and the light stays on. I then changed the water separator and the light has still stayed on ever since. The install bypassed the factory filter. I'm not sure what to do next.

Did you try resetting the light? Do it just like the oil light but only on the fuel filter setting. If you already did this then possible leak in the hp fuel system.
