Made a trip to the dyno today

Ken in AZ

ill-tempered
I had some free time today so I meandered on over to AZ Dyno Chip in Chandler AZ.

Did 4 runs, all in 5th gear.

1st run I did without loading the engine

2nd run I loaded the engine a bit with the dyno brake - boost just came on sooner and made more torque earlier but the max values were almost the same and the HP curve didn't change at all.

3rd run tried to load it a bit more but didn't make any difference

4th run I blocked the wastegate with some vice grips. :)

all in all with it uncorrected I made almost 480rwhp and 1100rwtq average and a little more with SAE correction.

The graph shows 2 runs. Red is wastegated to 42psi and blue is blocked wastegate to 48psi which slowly bleeds down to 45psi by redline. you can see how the blocked wastegate actually looses power on the top end due to the increase in drive pressure and heat from the additional boost.

Looking at this graph makes me want to shift at 3500rpm. :bang

Thanks for the positive feedback. I still think there's more in it but I've reached the limitations of this turbo. I honestly don't know if the water/meth kit was coming on or not and it only had water in it so maybe I could coax a little more to get it into the 500hp range with some meth in there.
