Minimum wires

So what are the nesscary sensors to let the dash to operate properly? I want to dissconnect the uneeded Junk from the harness to make it as clean as possible. 2001 6-speed Gone p-pump

The only thing you disconnect on the harness is the vp. The cam sensor is just relocated to the front cover is all.

im really interested in wat wired you dont need

ill like to lean up my engine bay by deleting unneeded wires let me n=know wat you end up removing please

I am just trying to clean up the ugly mess of wires. I sould not need the MAP sensor or VP plug.

The map sensor is just a plug, not sure if you need it, but probably not. I hooked it up because it is there. Not hooking it up will not clean up anything.

VP, APPS (if manual) and MAP are about the only things you could really get rid of. I wouldn't think it would clean it up enough to justify tearing the harness apart.

I ripped apart a harness from a '94 12v (surprising amount of wire in those) and a '00 24v harness. I have enough wire to wire up just about anything now. After seeing whats in them, I'd never touch one unless I absolutely had to. Unless its dismantled and the wires are going in a bucket, I'd do that again.

Im not so scared of wires....I was going to pop them out at the ecm using a pin tool and minimize the mess. Or has anybody used an 98 12v wiring harness with success?

This is what we are getting ready to do also. My brother is pretty good with this stuff and he is going to remove the vp plug, map sensor wires and i believe the air intake temp. I put 1/4 pipe plugs in the head so i didnt even have to buy expensive sensors to plug the holes with. That factory crap is a mess anyway. Tim

Tate, yes they are removed all together. I dont go anywhere that i cant plug it in and if i do, good ol ether can help me out. LOL Tim

I was able to remove 20 or so wires from the ecm.... Much cleaner now

Awesome! Any pictures?

Did you remove the wires/terminals from the ECM or just cut them? Either way, I'd seal up those holes or the ends of the wires to keep moisture from "wicking" into the ECM and ruining it.

I removed the wires by pin tool. I need to get the Plugs they have for the empty pins of the ECM. I will get the pics hopefully tomorrow after work.
