Motor swap question??

I have a 98 12v motor im in the process of building right now, came out of a 5sp 3500, what would it take to drop it into a 01 auto truck. By that i mean would the ecms just have to be swapped along with wiring harness or is there a lot more im missing?? thanks in advance

I'd say the best bet is to treat it like a 24v p-pump conversion. Swap the cam gear from the '01 so you can use the cam sensor for the tach. Retro all the sensors from the 24v to the 12v engine, and run the 24v ECM for the alt/tach/ac/etc. Make it a lot easier than trying to get the engine/truck harnesses to jive. They did some wiring changes around '00, so it probably won't all mate up.
