My build mistake...and resultant Horrors

Jasonc-there are a few reasons I'm choosing Allison over the 48, one is the shear size of components.....might be me, but bigger parts kinda mean strength...another is the additional gears, coupled with a lower first gear for getting heavy loads moving....the braking abilities of the Allison are also attractive....I don't tow heavy often, maybe 8-10 times a year....
I have several friends that depend on these trucks for work, and they tow all over the country....they routinely put 80K a year on their trucks....three of them have been through multiple 48 rebuilds/replacements before switching to Allison's....two tried the heavy-duty aftermarket builds as well....all are more than happy with their Allison's...one has over 400K on his first one, and the truck makes 600hp to the wheels...the longest a 48 lasted was 170K...and that was the aftermarket 48...
According to all of them, the torque converters are the key....they've all upgraded to the triple disk converters.
