Just got a first gen in the shop today for a few upgrades. Never have had a lot of experience with them just wanting some thoughts and options. The truck is a 91 never had a bolt or nut turned on it. It has less then 100 k on it the owner just wants a little more power 75 to 100 hp for pulling his horse trailer. Nothing major just a little upgrade. Any thoughts would be nice. Thanks andrew

gauges deffinitely, if he's pulling a trailer then i think he would benefit from a 3200 spring, a stg 1 fuel pin, possibly some pump tuning and a small set of injectors, and yes like a hx35/40 if the funds allow.

Pull his high-idle screw, shim up the slack in his throttle cable, grind the shallow side of the fuel cone as deep as you can or turn it to the deep side as a minimum also removing the little plastic spacer that sits under it and limits it's downtravel, bump the timing if you're feeling frisky, then use the pyro to decide how far in he's willing to crank in the fuel screw.

He may start hitting the limit of the factory LP with the non-IC'd injectors, so setting aside some $$ for an upgraded LP of some sort probably wouldn't be a bad idea, depending on how hard he'll run the truck.

I was planing on a lift pump Also sorry forgot to add that. Thanks again

id do a he351 great little turbo imho alot better than an hx35
