New dana posi kit- no friction material?

Guys,

I got the new dana kit for the D70 diff- there is NO friction material on either part. One is shinny metal other is black.
 
what kit? there are a few different designs of "lockers" or posi's
 
It's a factory dana 70U. It had friction/steel disc combo- traditional LSD. Looks like they have changed the design.
 
Yes,

Talked to Dana tech and they removed the friction material from the clutches. Now it's bare metal on one plate and the other is coated.
 
I purchased it from the dana/spicer regional distributor in Ft Worth Texas. I also needed a few other parts which took 2 months on back order.

I also called a few of the big online places- same deal.
 
I just just ran into this a few weeks ago... The guy who installed them said it worked fine.
