I Have a VE pumped 4BT with a factory turbo from a step van. I’m building it for a 48 Chevy 5 window patina truck / rat rod. I want to hop it up some but still want it to last. This is my current list of planed mods. How much power (HP and Torque) will this get me? What am I missing or what should I consider? All input is appreciated I’m still learning. Thanks:D:st:

1. Injectors ( not sure what size or type I need)
2. Governor spring (3600??)
3. Fuel pin
4. Valve springs
5. Turbo (HX35 or HY35) something not too expensive.
6. Aluminum intercooler ( biggest I can fit probably 31x18)
7. Maybe a new Performance Cam but there expensive $$ and I’m trying to do this myself
8. Dynamic Timing Advance

Welcome to CompD, all builds end up differently, but your on the right track for a little extra power.

1. Not sure on injectors, but I believe Smokem makes VE stuff.
4. Normally on a mild 2-valve engine the 60lb springs from Cummins will be fine.
5. Either of those are a good fit. You may also want to consider a small s300g.
6. On3 Performance makes decent intercoolers for the money. I have a 31x14x4 in my '49 for less than $200.
7. Don't worry about cam at this point.
