Just wanted to introduce myself to the group, my names Victor I just finished my 10 year career with the Coast Guard. I started my diesel tinkering with a '03 6.0 Powerstroke. Id never worked on diesels before that truck, ended up fully bulletproofing it in my driveway. 2 years ago i started a facility maintenance company that took off so I sold the 6.0 and got a '96 4x412v. When i bought it, it needed almost everthing but engine and trans were strong. That truck is my baby and i fully intend to restore it and make it into a fun street truck. I started with replacing the entire power steering system, chem flushing the cooling system, new radiator, batteries, alternator, brakes all around, front wheel hubs, all fluids and filters, gauges, BHAF, and 4" turbo back exhaust. Then I installed Thuren 3" front coils with Thuren shocks all around, Spohn adjustable 3rd gen style track bar, DOR steering brace, and DOR crossover steering drilling the knuckles/pitman arm for 3/4" straight bolts. I replaced my HX35 with a 62/65/14 turbo from Smeding and have put crazy Carl's 3.5" intake piping and horn. I have an aftermarket alluminum intake plenum and 1st gen style grid heater. The truck was originally a base model with crank windows, no slider, and more dents than a golf ball. I found a clean '97 gasser with all the bells and wistles and swapped the body over to my diesel. She does need paint but that will come. The interior unfortunately on both trucks was f'd so I cut the dash out of the truck and have been slowly fiberglassing in a new one. Up until last week ive been working two jobs (CG and the business) so time was short. Ive got a custom box with two hippo 8's and a full amped mids/highs setup. I picked up a spare trans and rebuilt it with all Goerend sourced parts billet input, front drum, front band, intermidiate, output, strut/anchor/apply lever, piston/accumulator, flexplate, tripple disc converter, and built valve body (also Goerend). Im just waiting on the valve body so I can install the trans. Ive got all stainless braided lines for the trans and a mishimoto trans cooler to go in when I install. Ive got afc live on order and am looking at injectors. Ive got the front axle ready for new bearings and seals and a 750hp rated mechanical lift pump from PDD also waiting to go in. Im sure I'm forgetting something as ive done alot to this truck in the past year. I just bought a '95 12ver I'll be using for work. Its an extended cab long bed 2wd. I rebuild the front end and will be checking the kdp and looks like resealing the turbo which is an he351. Plus fluids and filters as always. Sorry for the long winded post just wanted to indroduce myself and my girls. Look forward to posting progress and plans!
