Piston clearances. Would you reuse this?

I purchased an engine that had approx 20 hooks on it. So I figured I'd tear it down to check the condition of everything and measure clearances to make sure it was all good. No sense in rushing and ending up with big problems. The block has already been punched to 40 over. Well the piston to wall clearance in this was only .004 - .005 on the cylinders, normally I've always heard to run more around .010? The Mahle pistons have coated skirts and the one looks pretty rough. Would you reuse this?

I agree but they are smooth to the touch. That's why I'm asking if should even bother? I have some 40 over 24 valve pistons laying around I could have valve reliefs cut in and throw in for now. I have another standard block and 12v marine pistons for but it needs the mains line bored with studs, those pistons need cut, and it needs cam bearings.

Cylinders show some vertical marks, but after honing I have them pretty well cleared up at .008 - .009. This is going to be dedicated puller, so what's the thoughts on going to .012 clearance?

Id send them to Calico coating to have the skirts done again. I have .013 clearance but am also using forged pistons.
