pushrods and cowl holes won't align

I found the holes above the pushrods in the cowl, but when you try to pull the rocker headbolt or the pushrods up, the hole in the cowl is about 1/2 inch to far to the drivers side. This truck had a fender bender before i got it, i wonder if the body is tweaked enough to cause this. Any one else had this problem?
 
need to look at your fender bolts to see if they where sloted , ..and or the frame needs to be pulled .. all depends where the truck was hit at ...
 
Thats alot of movement, same deal with a truck I just did a gasket on that had junk cab mounts.
 
Do you have the transmission installed? If not you need to jack the front of the motor up to tip it back.
 
I finally got them out with a friends help. Had tilt the head towards the drives side. I've since did a little trimming on the holes in the cowl to help with installation.
