So I just stopped and talked to a guy about a first gen sitting in his front yard. He wants way to much money for the shape it is in, but I'm still interested in it.

He says that it will turn over but it wont start. And when he last drove it, when he would hit the brakes the engine died everytime. So I opened the hood and the rotary pump looks like it was rebuilt not to long ago. So with that being said. My question is with the little information I have do you guys have any ideas on what the problem is. I have never worked or Delt with a rotary pump before.

Any information helps thanks guys.

Loose hot wire going to the fuel shutdown solenoid. It is the little blue wire just on top of the head where the injection lines come from.

Not common. Like the p-pump in reliability. Many 1m plus VE engines out there. If something happens, it is usually the seals and a reseal kit is $20ish. If something on the inside breaks, a nice reman can be find for $500.
