relocated aftermarket fuel tank

Has anyone used a larger fuel tank behind the axle where the spare tire usually resides? Similar to what the suburbans have.

I saw one years ago done on a white dually over on DTR. He welded up his own tank to fit exactly where you're talking and had a 12v transfer pump inline between there and the top of his factory tank if I remember right. Think it allowed for an extra 25-30 gallons.
