replacement cover for the dash?

JCwhitney is where mine was purchased from. Fits damn good and not bad on price. Mine is kinda a lighter gray than the rest of the interior and i think it looks better that its offset in shades.
 
I almost just wanna buy a whole new one and then get a carpet cover. Im afraid if i cover it with the plastic piece the original dash is still gonna fall apart and rattle under my cover.
 
if my dash top is already in a few hundred peices, will a plastic cover still work or do i need to find one out of a wrecked truck and go from there?
 
When I did my heater core I tore out pieces of the dash just to make it easier, leaving the main supports with a good size peace on them so I had some surface area to glue to. Used the **** out of some clear silicone we had and glued it down. If the heater core goes out again I hope I dont own the truck. Its gonna be a job to get it off now. And it doesn't even rattle.
