What is the average length of the sled stops that guys have in back of their trucks? I was thinking like 12". I am thinking about building some and was curious. Post some pics if you have them. Thanks

I found this one written rule:

"Vertical bumpers are required to prevent the vehicle from
passing over the buckboard of the sled while backing up
to hook and unhook. Bumpers to extend a minimum of 8
inches vertically. Bumpers must be of rigid construction."

Perhaps take a look at the sled you hook to most, and build to that.

I don't recall the measurment but I think these were over kill at approx 18"

Mine are going to be bolt on, but I am going to drive around with them because I think they look sweet!:drive::rockwoot:[

If you plan on keepin your factory tailgate make sure that they ar'nt so tall that they come in contact with it when it is dropped open. I've seen a couple of trucks at pulls with the tell tail sign.
