anyone running them? if so how do they do?

im running dj's and love them just wondering how the spartan tunes run.

Are those files a baseline for custom tunes? Did they turn off the EGR operation?

I want to try them out, but don't want to mess up a good thing.

I run Matt's tunes. The Aggressive Street Economy is my favorite. Great shifting and good power and I'm averaging 15.5mpg 50/50 city/highway.

I also use the Aggressive Tow w/ Jake when towing my 5ver or horse trailer.

I think I'm more impressed with the trans tuning then I am with the power.

i have used many many of matt's tunes...
his tunes are some of the most powerful tunes available for the 6liter nothing i can say bad about them in the power department, but in the year that i ran spartan tuning i ended up going thru 4 trannies... 3 of them fully built.

i am now using eric's tunes, from Innovative Diesel, and the tranny tuning is much more in sync with my truck and my driving style. i'm not saying matt's tunes suck, as i know many people who are still on their stock trannies and using his tunes, but just my personal experience is that i am much happier with erics tunes... and with my current NONVVT setup, i actually have much more usable horsepower with Innovative tuning.

I tried the 90hp "General Economy" tune for about 120 miles on the freeway while empty. I really liked the shifting, it had good power and was netting decent mileage.
I put the camper on (4000lbs) then used tow with Jake (not sure if it was 40 or 65hp) it proved too hot for the truck on big hills and didn't down shift quick enough for my liking. I don't like a tune that makes me stuff my foot in to make it kick down. If I didn't kick it down and get at least 20+lbs boost rollin then it would get hot too quick.
I want to reload the 40hp tune (ensuring it's the 40hp) and double check temps (with a load) before I say too much here. So far I'd say my DJs tow allows me to hold ground speed better with a balance of fuel and boost.

I just got my tuner from Matt and will be loading my tunes tomorrow. I will let you know what I think about them as soon as I have tested them out.
