Suncoast VB lock up ?'s

I recently bought a 98 12v that I was told had a 'suncoast' transmission. After I've been driving it for a while I have my doubts about it. Today I decided to do a little test on it. I rigged up a lock up switch thinking that it would lock up in 2nd if it was a suncoast transmission and it doesn't. It only locks in Drive.

My question is, should it lock up in 2nd gear if it has a suncoast valve body as I think it should?

Not a good test to figure that out. I've had aftermarket VB's come with 2nd gear lock up and others that don't.

Checking the pressures should give you a better idea if things are 'turned up' or not.

Also may want to ask Suncoast of they mark their VB's in any way. If you knew enough about hole sizes and where they go you could check that as well.
