TST PMCR Question

I just bought a used PMCR w/gauges for my 03. I'm missing the egt probe; will it operate alright without it? I didn't know if it was just for the gauge or if it tied into the tuner. I know I can pick a egt probe up cheap but I already have gauges so I don't really need it. Thanks.

^^^ It will add fuel/timing without the probe, but some of the other functions won't work...like the cool down idle, pulling back duration when a max temp is reached, etc. It'd be worth buying a thermocouple in my opinion.

I dont know if this is recommended but i had mechanical gauges on my early 06 and had a TST for a short bit. I actually tied the TST egt wires to the mechanical gauge wires and all seemed to be just fine. There was about a 50 degree difference in the two iirc
