Welding a cam gear on...

According to my memory: if engine turns it push crank gear in, cam gear out and pump gear in
 
(observed as if the engine was in normal operation) The crankshaft gear applies inward force on the cam gear, in return the crank gear has an outward force applied to it. The camshaft also applies inward force on the injection pump gear, but this also causes the cam gear to have an outward force.. Inward being toward gear housing outward being toward the dummy looking at it...
