what's it worth?

A guy in Chicago has been trying to sell a COMPLETE 92 VE motor for at least a year it seems for $750. Bookshelf is his user name. To right person $300-$500 maybe, but I'd guess scrap price.
 
VE engines aren't worth the internet space that the ads take up....

Just kidding, but not much..I'd hold out for a complete running engine or a wrecked truck.
 
I'm really only after a good block, crank, and set of rods which a buddy of mine has out of a VE truck, so that's why I asked.
 
I sold the one that came out of my 89 for 300 with the injection pump in pieces but otherwise complete.
On the other hand a friend just picked a 89 motor for core value 150.00 at a local U-pull it .The windshield said bad motor but the trans was full of water and the lever for the detent cable froze the throttle linkage . It turned out to be a good runner with about 80,000 miles on it. If time is not involved you will get a better deal. Rich
