FASS Diesel Nationals June 5th 2010

Another great FASS Diesel Nationals , even though mother nature tried to spoil it on saturday.

Sunday was a great come back with non stop action all day.

We will try to get results and pictures up in the next couple of days. After spending all day yesterday at the track tearing down and cleaning , I got the pleasure of sitting on the tarmack at Minneapolis for 4 1/2 hours and getting back to Seattle at 5am this morning.

Wait till you see some of the pics of sled pulls and drag racing , we took over 1400 just need to get them narrowed down to the top 500.

Again thanks to all the sponsors, competitors and spectators that made the FASS Nationals a great success.

I hope some one got a good pic of my making the sled vanish when my exhaust broke!

Was great to meet you guys!

Way to go Michael and DirtyMax, I'm really pleased for the whole team.

Jim

X2, Congrats to Michael as he was the man holding two trophies at the end of the day! The DirtyMax is badass! Thanks for all the help guys, I appreciate it!

Thanks Mark! I was hoping to make it by your shop before the end of this trip, but I ran out of time. I kept starting out the day at the shops farthest away from Indy, and running out of time before I got as close in as you are! I'll give you a call in the next day or so.

Regards,
Michael Pliska

Going thru the 144 voicemails and over 390 emials about last weekend. So far nothing but great reviews.

Randy,
Thank you so much for all your work in helping us coordinate the Make-A-Wish suite. I received your voicemail on Monday - a few days late, about the rain out and reschedule. I know a few wish kids were still able to make it, which was great! I've attached a few pictures that the Make-A-Wish volunteer took of Charley, a wish child and the race. Feel free to share these with other folks who had a hand in helping secure this opportunity for our wish children.

We couldn't make the wish granting process nearly as magical without the generosity of folks like you at the NHRDA!

Thank you so much for all you've done for the kids and continue to do a great job helping out people as you travels across the states. Best of of luck and see you in 2011

Most Sincerely,

That is so cool Randy. I gave that little boy a hat. Robin came over and told me he won his first diesel drag race...so I gave him 2 thumbs up and a free hat of his choice. I gave his sister one too...it was her birthday after all. I gotta say I'm proud to be apart of an organization who trys to shine a little light on these kids...and everyone involved in making it a great day...John with the Funny Car...the Dirty Max crew...all...stand up guys in my opinion...and glad to call them friends.

Those guys can really brighten up your day. We employ about 10 special needs men/women here at AirDog with down syndrome and various other illnesses. They are what makes me want to go to work everyday. Hats off to everyone who helps out with them.

It was great meeting with all the Make-a-Wish kids and their families. Charley (they guy pictured above) was sooo shy, but we managed to get him into the race trucks (and he seemed to really enjoy that). For one of the kids, John Robinson proceeded to fire up the funny car with him in the seat, and rev'd the crap out of it and smoked the whole place out. I figured the poor kid would be petrified but he climbed out with a smile on his face that you wouldn't believe.

it was a long week end I wish I could have met more of you..wish we could have made a better pass with the 2wd.I was eccited that it moved the sled.
thanks for letting us come up and play. The track crew was great some of the best I have been around.

Ya it was a good event I think they were a little quick to cancel on Saturday but it turned out to be a great event. John is a heck of a guy and hilarious Ive got to talk to him the last 2 years at ORP and he as always a great guy.

Dale,
Your pull was one of the few I got the chance to watch, all I have to say is OMG.... Most of us would have got out of it after slamming the front up and down 3-4 times ..... That was one hell of a ride .... as Denver said during your pull..... Ride'em Cowboy

Just wanted once again to thank everyone in the Diesel community that took time to make these kids dreams come true.

Last weekend we were invited by Make A Wish to attend the NHRDA drag races at ORP. We weren't quite sure what to expect, but thought it sounded fun. Well, we arrived to what I can only describe as a little boys dream come true. The drivers were honored to have kids from MAW talk to them! They let Gavin (and Braden) sit in the drag cars, funny cars, diesel trucks, golf carts. They signed autographs and took pictures! The highlight of the day though, was being driven down the drag strip in a big truck! We all piled in a brand new F350 (I think...I'm not up on my trucks). The other Wish family got in another truck. We each had a professional driver. We pulled up to the starting line...they did a burn out...and then we were off! It was fabulous! Our truck didn't win, but I'm not sure Gavin cared. He waved to the crowd as we drove back and got on the microphone at the announcer booth and called for a rematch LOL!"

Thanks again NHRDA
Gavin's Family
