yup, after two combat tours I finally got tasked to a back-base... anyone passing thru Manas this upcoming spring, look me up!

now the question is...how long do I stay there before getting forward deployed.. my guess is... 71 days. Any takers?

hey man whatcha doing in manas?

I will be going back through there in the spring on my way home cant wait!
But I have been stuck there afew different times coming and going from afghanistan for more than a few weeks and man that place gets boring!

I'll be having two beers a day, cramming in as much college as possible, hitting the gym and overall having a relaxing 6 month vacation from busy-body home station stuff.. I know it'll be boring but i'm actually excited about the change of pace.

I highly doubt i'll stay there long unfortunately, they're ALWAYS tasking manas to backfill downrange (EOD)

Well I'll remember to try to hit you up when I am on my way back out, but that will not be to July/Aug. That place was the land of milk and honey compaired to here.

That should be wrapping up the end of my tour there about that time-frame... it may be the land of milk/honey but I've got a ring on my finger and fobbit's make me angry :stab:

I'll be having my 2 beer's a day, working out, trying to get CCAF out of the way and waiting (drooling) for the tasking to forward deploy back into A-stan :woohoo:

Look me up if anyone's coming thru, I'm down to talk diesels, drink beer & yell at fobbits :kick:

Was through Manas in June. When they told us you will get in trouble for carrying your weapon.................wow. Why can't I get combat pay for a place like that....

YUP! So far I've supported the 10th Mountain in Baghdad 07' and this last trip I was dedicated EOD support to the 42 Royal Marines in 08/09... being on a regular air force deployment should be entertaining, hopefully boredom doesn't get me in trouble...

Dude I just figured out your the guy I been talking to on cumminsforum about your traction bars lol!

Yeah man you cant complain about 2 beers a day!Im from seymour johnson(goldsboro NC) and we are the first F-15 Crew chiefs that is starting the "6 month" deployments lol! That is turning into 8 months!Yes I know I cant complain when army guys come out here for a year or more but atleast most of them get to shoot some **** or something better than just working on jets constantly!

I should be coming through there in march man Ill hit ya up on here before I leave, you should just bring those traction bars Ill get them from you there loL!

yea, what are you going to tell customs when they ask what the scaffolding is for? LOL

have a 9 for me nothing like 2 pints a day. not your ordinary 12oz beer. Yummm

I'll be passing through Manas around April time frame hopefully. I was just there about a week ago. I'm now in Leatherneck waiting on a helo ride to go play with the taliban. :stab:

BTW Manas has better food in its tent chow halls then Camp Pendleton does in its regular ones... damn you Air Force guys get all the nice stuff! :P

I was under CE while there also. I did a HN deployment aka TCN. Was about as easy as it gets. Id say it ranked as one of the best deployments Ive been on and I would love to come back or stop on by.

I was just in the middle of cooking some supper for us when it I got slapped in the face with a memory. Your EOD so there for your probably in the new building correct? We helped build that building and it was almost done when we left. That place(building) had quite the history in it before it was even finished. HAHAHAHAHa damn desert queens.

you've already broken in our new building... i havent even seen the damn thing yet!

hahaha ya that was like a yr ago. It wasnt me that broke it in, it was some of out other escorts. The one female got caught in the males latrine at Petes with a marine. That is the worst latrine on on base and just nasty.

On another note, wife went through there last winter on the way to Afghanistan and a bunch of their females got in trouble but for differnt reasons. Apparently after two pints they couldnt hold their liqueur and had to be baby sat.

Its a good place to be! Go to ITT and see if you can get on a trip.
