Finally got my Malone stage II+ in the mail. My brother and a friend of mine also fabricated a delete pipe (wasn't going to pay 600 bones for one). The car (2012 Jetta with a 6 spd) is night and day difference now! This little car rips pretty good now and has now problem spinning in 1st and 2nd, it accelerates much faster, and 6th gear can now be used to actually accelerate instead of just maintaining speed. If you have one of the CR VW's I highly recommend this setup, the car is a joy to drive now. In the next week I should know what type of millage I picked up.

U Going For Post Count Now Or What?

It Is Obvious, Though, That Most Sports CarsAre Rear Wheel Drive, Or Awd..

Yea rear wheel drive cars don't spin!
Need to start looking into that for the wives 12, hers is dsg, don't wanna get carried away.

How's the stock clutch holding up Al? Be interesting to see mileage changes, plus or minus. How's it sound?

Your Jetta had a DPF?

Stock clutch seems to handle it just fine. Before it was whisper quiet, didn't even sound like a diesel. Now there is some more motor noise and a fair sound, I still have a muffler and resonator on it, that will change!

Yep, in comparison with the motor it was pretty dam big, too. What was odd was the converter... Someone at the assembly line drew hearts with smiley faces inside. And when it had the dpf before it would smell like chlorine when it was in regen.

Hmmm you're going to have to show me. Just as soon as I stop hating you for getting the EFI live that I can't have...

Interesting, Here in California most of the new TDI Jetta Cars do not have DPFs only the Passats have them... I'm confused, I'm going to have to call the dealership and make sure they know what they are selling? I was told by them they don't have DPF because they are below the weight limit. chlorine smell? This interests me even further.

2009 and newer have DPFs, only the Passat uses urea

My wife has a 2005 passat tdi that I'd like to tune and change the exhaust. No DPF, just a huge cat!

I'm interested in what type of mileage gain you will see!

Well I've logged about 80% of my fill ups in the car, it has 25K on it and has an average overall of 45.8mpg, and my best ever was 49.1 mpg, ill be keeping track of the next few tanks for sure!

Are you on Fuelly.com to track your fuel?

No it's an app called mpg for free. I couldn't find that fuelly app and didn't want to log on every time.

Sounds like that thing scoots now! Thanks for updating us on the results. As I stated in my thread you posted in, I'm interested in a DPF delete and a tune in the future. Although, I'd have to get one that's DSG friendly. Maybe when I'm serious about it, there'll be some aftermarket goodies available for it. I'm still impressed with the get-up the Passat has as is!

FYI, there are no tunes that are DSG friendly except for the Econo tune from Malone, which has no power increase.

Even the tunes that advertise not to require a DSG tune have DSG problems.

Not every car with DSG has problems, but most do.

A guy at work has a MKV Jetta with an auto, he told me it was crazy expensive for a new automatic. He said he brought it to the transmission guys in the back and they said there was no way in hell they were doing it, so when I started looking for a car I knew it had to be a manual. I'm going to drive this thing till it drops, replacing a clutch is cheap...not so much with a new fangled auto!
