So I have been lurking around here for awhile now and for a while been really on the fence with what direction to go with my truck (I like driving it too much) I couldn't quite get myself committed to building a competition focused vehicle out of it, Buuttttt as of recent our local airport has been procured into a drag strip, lots of thinking later I have decided to take the plunge.
I have had a small build thread going on in the 1st gen section for my compounds but after I had a bolt back out inside the timing case and toasted my oil pump my build has moved beyond just a set of compounds.
What I have is a 2 owner 1993 5spd w250, spent its whole life stock tugging around a horse trailer,

My progress will be slow but steady as i'm building this as the funds allow.
For this season, the truck will be loosing all things not essential for racing, I'm concentrating on making it as light as I can
I'll be re-wiring it to eliminate the typical 1st gen electrical gremlins and will be using a painless switch panel.
My E/T goal for this season is around an 11.5
Engine is a little extreme for a VE truck but if all goes right I will need it.
6.7 crank
Carrillo rods
Wiseco Pistons
Girdle
5x18s @105 LPM
A1000
188/220 Hamilton
External Wastegate Steedspeed manifold
SXE362/S475
ARP Fasteners all around
Balanced rotating assembly
(maybe a shot of funny stuff)
The list goes on and on
You get the point, it'll hold some power.
The transmission is a pretty well built 47RH its been outfitted with a billet input, intermediate, billet output, DPC converter, Goerend FMVB, ect... and will be shifted by an SCS Cheetah
I'm really excited to get some progress made as this project has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember,
I have started stripping the interior down in preparation for the arrival of a set of Corbeau seats and my shifter, also started drawing up some plans for a custom dash, I'll be using a full assortment of ISSPRO EV2s to monitor all the important things.
Stay tuned!
