Truckers, lets see your rigs!

Zach... they are. They also live at 950-1300rpms and that’s all the faster they need turned.

Rick. They haul 80k, get 9 mpg, pull hills at 900 rpm, never touch their engines, put 250k a year on their trucks, and probably spend 4-5 hours per day at the nearest Pilot telling everybody in the lounge about it. We are clearly misinformed at behind the times.

This is the first post talking about pulling at 1100 rpms. There are tens of thousands of trucks on the road today that do exactly this without issue.

clearly the sarcasm in that post was lost on you.

bingo. the new engines DO NOT WORK in the PNW where I live, I literally watched them disappear in my mirrors for years, still see it all the time when I drive on my free days. they're gutless no matter where you shift them, the fuel mileage is horrendous, and the DPF's are constantly needing service. I put 1/4 of a million miles on a truck with an MBN, later converted to 6NZ, running 100,000 pounds gross weight, RARELY had any mechanical issues, rarely dipped below 5.5MPG, and had 650hp to play with. I literally do not care what the "new engine" mouthbreathers have to say, I've seen their performance first hand, and I've seen it for years every single day. you've got to either be delusional or mentally handicapped to think these new engines are worth more than scrap steel and plastic.
Again diverting from the main issue. These engines can do it all day long and live just fine. Nothing to do with if they can outpull a 600 cat or if they're less reliable than older engines.

that's all it is, mouthbreathing cab lizards with dealer brochures trying to talk the talk without knowing how to walk the walk.

I'm sorry, were you saying something?

He raves about his powerful S60 at 55K gross weight....who cares?

I pull close to that with my 3500HD...

This has gotten very very dumb in a hurry. I talk to/sell to/support/help diagnose etc to drivers with emissions trucks every day all day long. You keep running emissions engines at low RPM. The guys who want their chit to last will keep the RPM up.

It is hilarious to think of emissions engines in mountainous terrain. Everybody we deal with in the mountain regions have Cat products and they are happy. The select few who bought an ISX "for a good deal" in those regions are crying to us about their repair bills.

I would love to know how much real world usage data you have about the x15 alan. You clearly have sticky brochures piled in your bunk if you are here preaching about how great that is already.

edit: Since when are we all saying to run the engines at 2000 rpm? We said do not drag them down to 1200 and below. Please tell me you guys aren't here telling us the euro trash on the roads are more reliable and more powerful.

It wouldn't bother me if it weren't for people who may potentially read this in the future and think everybody on the compd needs to wear a helmet. I will just sit back and enjoy the show from here. This is getting hilarious.

I'm sitting in class learning about Fentanyl.....so in order to stay awake I'm arguing with tards on the internet......not sure what's worse

Well, we pull 167500 lbs with our emission engines and they do at least 1 million kms without issues. The harder they are driven the less problems with DPF.

Yeah, you can outpull 500 hp emission engine with your 650 hp Cat, no one is surprised. Try outpulling 630 hp DD16.

the DD16's aren't any better, there's several of those running around in western stars and it was the same deal, hit a hill, split down half a gear, wave goodbye, and watch that big W on the grille fade into the sunset........give it up dude, those engines are garbage.

Wow I say you guys are wrong about engines running at 1100 rpm, which you guys a absolutely are, and you guys weasel your way out of they argument after I completely embarrass you. The discussion was never about reliability of newer engines or how hard they go up a hill. That's just an attempt to sidestep your embarrassment from complete lack of knowledge on how the new engines operate.

And you guys are calling ME a retard. That's rich.

I've driven an X15, as well as a D13 Volvo, and a 2350 ISX. they flat out do not fukking pull at 1100RPM, there's no argument to have. I've seen it and done it, so your opinion is utterly irrelevant. #byefelicia

Spade = Spade

I don't care if newer engines will run at 1100RPM, I'll never own one. I got my belly full of paying for emissions crap on our truck from 2009-2014 when we had an MXS C15 and I think a 2250 ISX...Gliders from here until we cant buy them anymore.

Here one manufacturer tried Cat engines some years back, they were the worst POS on the market. No power or torque, high fuel consumption, very unreliable. C18, C13 and C15 Acerts. After complaints from customer they offered to change them to Volvo engines for 5000 euros.

no, because we net 70,000 to 80,000 pounds here doing the work I did, not gross 80,000. that's why this fancy sh!t doesn't work. we actually need trucks with horsepower and torque, not aerodynamics and engines that barely make enough power to get out of their own way.
