Took my heads after a wot run ended in a loud bang. found the number 5 piston had a nice crack all the way through the middle. Anyone have any input on what to go with for new pistons?

I am just looking to see if it would be worth putting water/meth injection on my 02 duramax. Anybody have any negative experiences with it? Or is it something to have? A friend has it on his 6.0L powerstroke and he says it works great for him. any info will help.
