    68RFE Transmission Cooler for 48RE

I'm glad he did. I never saw this one from 10 years ago. Glad to know they bolt right up. But what good is the cooler up front if the heat exchanger is still plumbed into the circuit? Bypass the exchanger, use a 6.0 cooler, enjoy lower tranny temps.

    04.5 rebuild

I have that return line for back of the head, but not willing to part ways with it. Removed it when I added the coolant bypass kit.

Hydroboost conversion on First gen engine

So if you drive an old jalopy truck, the pedals need to be sloppy. Got it.

    Headgasket blues

Sounds like you have a good plan of attack. Exhaust studs could be frozen to the head. They would be easier to remove with the head out and manifold mounted to the head. You technically don't need to pull the front end apart to remove the head. You could also drill and tap the coolant plugs in...

I already offered it to him.

    04.5 rebuild

Looking good. I'm no help for the return line. Good idea on leaf spring bushings at this time while they are easy to access. I actually flushed the inside of my frame with lots of water at this point, before placing the cab and bed back on. Then poured some oil down inside the frame rails...

Custom dash in a first gen, how to do it?

NVU would be my vote. That's nice to know they have a drop in kit for these trucks.

    HE351VE Turbocharger

I've had this turbo for several years. Zach at North America Turbo Systems rebuilt this when he was still open. Rebuild and balanced, 10 blade exhaust wheel, actuator tested and works. $1000 CompD price, not including shipping. I'll work with buyer on shipping being we have a UPS acct.

Did the amount of white smoke decrease when you swapped injectors? Why would failing valve seals cause white smoke?

    F250/Cummins Swap

So your thermostat was bad in the fleece bypass? How did you tell it had failed before removing it and seeing the damage?

add a turbo vs 2nd gen swap

Call and talk to them at PDD. Only item that was an issue last time I called was a coolant line for the automatic trucks. If you have a coolant bypass or a manual trans, they could have the kit out in a week. I too am on the fence about adding another turbo. The truck needs it, I'm just being...

    04.5 rebuild

Absolutely use mopar core and evaporator. I would also highly recommending addressing the damper doors while access is easy. I found the earlier damper doors (02-03) to be stouter in construction when comparing to my 05 damper doors. So I used the 03 doors from my donor. In the end, I should...

    48re pan gasket

How does everyone get a 48re pan gasket to seal and not leak? I have a PML cast pan, OEM style gasket, but still leaks. Always has. Pan flange is flat, but maybe it needs to be sanded flat on a surface plate? Maybe this PML pan is garbage? Is there a better gasket? I'm tired of leaving trans...

    02 F350 rear axle

    Trans Cooler Lines - Aftermarket

I have a 6.0 ford trans cooler on my 05 CR. The cooler has 1/2" barbed fittings on it, so I adapted my transmission cooler ports to 1/2" push lock and used 1/2" push lock hose to and from the cooler. Cruising at 65mph last week the front cooler line on the trans came off the push lock fitting...
