Hepling a friend diag his 01 3500. When the truck is parked with the front on a slight incline the fuel seems to bleed back to the tank. If he is parked with the front slightly lower than the rear it will be fine no problems. We replaced the lift pump, no change. Hewas told there is a check valve, or a fuel cutoff that has failed. We are unable to find a listing or source locally. Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm not too familiar with the dodge/cummins. I have been a ford diesel tech for 18 years. Looking for some insight.

It's called the overflow valve.....PM Snedge on this board he can hook you up with one.

Last time my truck acted that way, the return line banjo bolt on the back of the head had loosened up. Could also be a leak in the 3 way tee on the return line at the back of the engine too. I have seen another truck where the injector body O-rings failed and caused a hard start, but it was also putting fuel into the oil.

Have not changed out the injectors. Just replaced the banjo bolt on the return line. No change in starting. Will look a little closer to see if Fuel is getting in the oil? Will look at the 3 way tee also. Cannot see any external leaks anywhere on the vehicle.
