01 cummins spedo problems

My friend has a 2001 cummins 2500 and the spedo is all over the place. I was wondering if it could be the sensor in the rear end? Any help would be great. Thanks,

When my speedo went crazy it was the PCM! Also my sensor in the rear end has been out for awhile! And my speedo is fine!
 
I wonder if thats not my problem. Truck throws a rear speed sensor code. And i have replace the sensor and the wireing. Sometimes the spedo goes crazy and sometimes it doesnt.
I wonder if this could be the culprit of the defueling????
 
is there any way to test the pcm or the speed sensor?
And the brake light is on?
 
I had a truck come in the shop with the same problems, inop speedo, abs lights and it was the abs control module causing the problem.
 
yeah after checking out the wiring on the truck and looking at the diagrams i feel like its either the ABS control module or the pcm. How much was the control module.????
 
My abs and brake light comes on after i drive a little but nothing is messed up with the speedo! Hopefully the speed control sensor fixs this problem!
