I have a 01 dodge ram 2500 2wheel drive, ever since I bought the truck used, when you start it up it barley wants to go, it will get up to speed but usally not over 35mph, But I can put the truck in N and turn it off and start it back up and it will go for about 60 to 100ft and then stop pulling, you can give it gas mat it to the floor and nothing..... it will take a mile or 2 before it will go like normal, somtimes it will work fine if I come to a stop light and then Go... once the it goes it works great nice firm shifts and never does it again until the truck sits for about 2hrs or so, If I start it up and let it run for about 15 or 20 min. it never gives me a Problem......... Any CLUES, Any help... thanks

I say vp as well or maybe apps. Weak. Lift pump will do the same. Almost sounds like its trying to pull fuel and when you kill it it build psi for second then drains the fuel again.

Symptoms sound like the computer board on the vp has a bad connection. Unfortunately, replacing the vp is the only solution for that (hopefully before it leaves you stranded somewhere). I'm assuming you've already checked the lift pump.
