01 No Cam Signal

cam signal goes strait to the ECM. So may be a bigger problem than just the sensor.
 
Well i unhooked my TST without unplugging the map harness and i got that same code, no cam signal! Do you have any king of box that plugs into the map sensor? If so try disconnecting that and see what happens
 
If you have access to a scope, you should scope the crank signal at the ecm, if theres no signal go to sensor. You could also check for a ac voltage on a multimeter. If you dont do this your just shooting in the dark. If possible did you set the air gap properly? Air gap may not be adjustable i dont know, never replaced one on a cummins before, its just an idea for ya.
 
checked all wiring and did it by the book and still nothing. the thing is truck runs fine and have tach signal .
 
well i have a 01 engine harness and a ecm for an 01 that your next option.
