01 will boost fooler that not fooling any thing

hey guys I have a buddy with a 01 that used to be a auto but now is a manual. he has a boost fooler and we have tightened the waste gate actuator on the hy35. I will boost up to a little over 30psi which is perfect. the problem is that it will only hold it for a few secs and then it seem like it is defueling back to around 26 or so. I was under the impression that this is exactly what the fooler was sapost to prevent. am I wrong ?

yes.. a fooler will allow it to go that high with out throwing the over boost code.
you will still run out of fuel to maintain that pressure.

I would but its a hy35, it looks like his smoke cleans completely up its the reason I think its taking fuel out

At what rpm is smoke clearing? What fueling box?
