01 wont start out in 1st gear and no O/D

Ok guys me and my dad have been fighting this for awhile. Dad's truck had a new trans put in awhile ago. At first it was great. Then after awhile it would start in second and then no O/D. So the guy that put it in talk with the rebuild company and they put in a different V/B. That fixed it for alittle bit but then same thing. So then they just put in a whole different new trans. Then it was fine for alittle bit, but then same thing. So i bought the GM Gov. presure conv. kit. That fixed it for alittle bit but then same thing. So we are at a loss to whats the problem. The company that does the trans rebuilding says its something in the truck side and not there trans. But the thing is if you start in 2nd, then go to 3rd while going down the road, we go maybe 3 miles. Then shift into neutral, shut the truck down, what 30 seconds, then start back up then it will shift just fine. Sooooo... i dont know what to think.

I had a gas truck do the same exact thing, it was two bare wires on the transmission harness that would come together and burn up the ECM. I went through about 5 ECMs before I found the wires...

Truck is going to limp. Possibly just able to jumper the powertrain power relay.

Maybe hi line pressure code ? My suncoast did that and just needed a resistor in one of the wires and all fixed. Just another idea.

Now i've been doing some searching on this resistor. And it seems that that is the problem. Im am reading that its a 150 ohm resistor. Is this correct??

I'm not sure on which one it is but I'm sure if you give Suncoast a call they will help you out even though its not their transmission. Great guys over their! !
