02 6spd-stuttering over 2Krpm

Got a customers truck that has a problem stuttering and jerking over 2k rpm. Has a new cam sensor, new fuel filter, stock lift pump, edge juice w/ attitude, Attitude shows the fuel pressure staying around 12psi at idle and drops down to around 6psi wide open. Even with the edge on stock it still has a slight stutter, then gets worse as you go up on the power level. The truck runs like a beast down low for no more than what is done to it and still picks up decent speed when the stuttering happens. Any idea's?
 
could be the apps or TPS which ever you wanna call it, does it do it sitting still or just driving it? I take it there are no codes associated with this issue either? It could be the VP but i would think the signs would be more pronounced but its hard to tell since they are so finicky.
 
If the trucks performance keeps dropping as you turn up the comp box, I'd say the VP-44 maybe the problem. Thanks Steve B.
 
its throwing no codes. He is coming by the shop tomorrow to help me finish an 06 motor rebuild and install. Once we are done with it I'll roll his in and try un hooking the edge.
 
Try checking the apps voltage, and check the wire tap if its not a soild connection it could cause this.
 
I had truck that I chased the surging for over a year and the ecm took a crap. After a new ecm it doesn't surge anymore. I have seen issues like that be fixed by cleaning battery cable ends too though.
