02 ram diesel trans issues DUMBFOUNDED

So we put in a new transmission and it drove fine then later that night it wouldn't go over 20mph. So we took the valve body out cleaned it put it back in and it drove good. Then the next day he was driving to work and it did the only 20mph thing again. So we bought a brand new valve body put it in tonight and now it won't move. It will kinda go in reverse but nothing else now. Then took it back out took off shift kit, put new solenoids on and the governor thing. Put it back in drove good. Drove today went back to 20mph. What r we missing!?!? 47re, new transmission, new torque converter, new valve body. HELP

When you say ot only runs 20mph, is it not shifting from 1st?

The Trans slips?

Or that's just the only enough power it makes?

It will drive good once we put it all back together everytime then it throws itself into limp mode it seems

No it's not shifting from 1st. Trans was completely rebuilt. The valve body was bought at a local shop.

It will run good when u put it all back together then it will go into limp mode a lil while later.

So we just also put in a new speed sensor. Tried unhooking both batteries for a min then touching the negative to pos in one to "reboot" but that did nothing too. Would we need to have it reflashed maybe?

You most likely need a new valve body from a reputable builder.

What does it do if you manually start in 1st, and shift it manually.
